If you are ready to make a meaningful impact in the field of education and examinations, we invite you to be part of our global team. **Role Accountabilities**: The British Council is seeking passionate and experienced English language teachers to deliver high-quality instruction that meets the diverse needs of learners across our teaching centres. This role requires thoughtful planning and preparation to ensure lessons are engaging, inclusive, and tailored to individual learning styles. You will be expected to uphold the British Council’s Global Teaching Standards and maintain excellence in both teaching and learning outcomes. As part of our commitment to learner success, you will monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and foster autonomy in their language development. Professional development is a key part of this role, and you will be encouraged to actively participate in training and performance reviews to stay at the forefront of ELT practices. Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to the wider activities of the teaching centre, including course development, staff collaboration, and supporting marketing initiatives. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring excellent customer service through clear communication and dissemination of information to students. You will help learners engage with the cultural values of the UK and promote intercultural understanding through classroom activities and beyond. Your work will reflect our values and contribute to a respectful, inclusive learning environment for all. **Qualifications & Experience**: **Essentials** - Undergraduate degree. - Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Cambridge CELTA) or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Trinity TESOL). - A minimum of 2 years post-certificate i.e. Cambridge CELTA/ Trinity Cert TESOL experience gained from teaching a variety of age groups and levels from young learners through to adults. - Proficiency in English equivalent to a Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) C2 level. **Desirables** - Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Cambridge DELTA or Trinity DipTESOL). - Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate (Trinity TYLEC). - Experience teaching Early Years or University/Vocational students. - Line managing experience.Experience delivering training sessions. **Important Information**: - **Location**:Bogotá (onsite). - **Gross monthly salary**:6,500,000.00 - 7,600,000.00 COP. - **Contract type**:Two Years Fixed-term. - **Contracted hours**:Full time - 25 teaching hours per week. - **Working Hours**:Classes are offered from 07.00 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 08.00 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. on Saturdays. This role may require mornings and/or evenings, and Saturday work.
